Motor shows are quite the place for manufacturers, builders and crazy enthusiasts alike to show off their designs and products to the world. But there are somethings that make you really rethink and redefine the word crazy. If you want to know what insanity looks like, look no further. It has appeared in the form of the Lazareth LM847. This is the Motorcycle with a Maserati V8 engine. Is this the strangest thing of them all at the Geneva Motor Show?
The Lazareth LM847 is not the first motorcycle with a car engine. Think of the Boss Hoss – An American cruiser with a 5.7 liter Chevy V8 engine. There are more custom jobs out there than I can list, so be assured that this insanity will not be the last of its kind. It is just the latest in a long line of insane motorcycles that will continue to grow.
The Lazareth LM847 is built by a French outfit called Lazareth. The outfit knows its stuff and they build some crazy custom vehicles. It has been responsible many custom builds such as the Wazuma quad bike, Wazuma GT Roadster and the Renault Twingo, to name a few. So when this new Lazareth LM847 made its debut, we were not surprised, nor shocked. We simply asked: What’s next?
The Lazareth LM847 gets a 4.7 liter V8 Maserati engine. These engines date back to the time before Maserati started downsizing their engines and giving them turbos. The V8 engine is tuned to produce 470hp and 619Nm of torque. All this power and rush is channeled through a single-speed hydraulic coupling in place of a multi-gear transmission. The Lazareth LM847 has tandem wheels at the front and the rear, a seat and handlebars. It does look like it could lean a bit in the turns, but I probably wouldn’t want to try that before I have my will in place.
