Suter MMX 500 2-Stroke Bike to Compete in 2016 IOMTT

Swiss racing manufacturer Suter Racing is confirmed to be making its debut at the 2016 Isle of Man TT. The motorcycle that is competing will be the Suter MMX 500. Suter will run the motorcycle in the RST Superbike and the PokerStars Senior TT races. What is unique about the Suter MMX 500 is that it is a 576cc two-stroke motorcycle. The news has already generated significant excitement with fans around the world and the motorcycle was named the most desirable motorcycle at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan. Suter has abundant experience with 2-stroke motorcycles, having entered grand prix races with 2-stroke machines in the late 1990s.

Eskil Suter, the CEO of the company believes that the MMX 500 can be competitive against the Honda, BMW and the Kawasaki superbikes. The MMX 500 is a tribute to the wild days of the 500cc GP racing where legends like Kenny Roberts, Eddy Lawson, to name a few regularly fought for podiums and against crashing.

According to Eskil Suter, “Suter has awakened this charismatic era with the MMX 500 bringing those GP bikes back to life in a modern context. We are equipping the MMX 500 engine with high-end components, of which one could only dream of back in the days of 500cc racing, including an electronic fuel injection, for example, and counter-rotating crankshafts.”
