Skoda will launch an upgraded version of the Superb on February 23. The Skoda Superb is the best luxury sedan in its segment thanks to the backseat comfort, cabin space, the refined engine or the class leading features. The price is set right too – All of which combine to make this Skoda a superb package. Now, the new Skoda Superb is to be launched. It is an improved variant of the luxury sedan. With the new Skoda Superb, the Czech manufacturer has pushed the luxury envelope further and it seems unlikely for any challenger to catch up. The new Superb gets rid of the soft lines that characterized the previous models. It gets sharper lines that make the car look crisp and young. It is well proportioned as well.
The new Skoda Superb will be powered by a 1.8 liter TSI gasoline engine that generates 178bhp. A diesel variant is available as well, featuring a 2.0 liter diesel engine that generates 160hp. The petrol variant has a 7-speed DSG transmission system. The diesel variant gets a 6-speed DSG transmission. A 6-speed manual transmission should be available for the petrol variant later on.
On the inside, the Skoda Superb features a lot of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines that gives the cabin a unique character and feel. The new Superb carries the same platform as the Octavia and the Audi A3 and this offers a lot of cabin space. There is more legroom, knee room and more shoulder room as well. The new Superb features a lot of tech and safety features. In the international market, it is packed with 7 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), emergency braking, tire pressure monitor and electronic diff locks. An optional cruise control on top of the driving modes, blind spot detection are available as well. Driver alert system and travel assist are the other tech features on offer. It is not revealed if all of the international features will be present in the Indian model of the Skoda Superb.
While Skoda has not revealed the final price for the new Superb, it can be expected to be priced competitively at ₹ 25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol variant and at around ₹ 30 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel variant. The official prices will be known once Skoda launches the new Superb on the 23rd of February.
