The Royal Enfield Himalayan might be introduced in North America, according to the automaker. The Himalayan is the newest offering from the Royal Enfield stable and is a motorcycle that the manufacturer is expecting to boost the sales of the brand in the country. Now, Royal Enfield has plans of selling a fuel injected version of the Himalayan in North America.
According to the Instagram page of Royal Enfield North America, a fuel injected version of the Himalayan could be introduced in North America at a later stage. While details about the North American version are scant at the moment, expect a FI version to make it to the continent in 2017. Nothing is guaranteed though. According to Royal Enfield, RE North America is expected to hold a unique crowd funding campaign to test customer interest in the Himalayan and will then proceed towards accepting pre-bookings in preparation for the official launch.
The Himalayan was launched in February 2016 and Royal Enfield is targeting the adventure crowd with the motorcycle. The Himalayan is expected to find customers in many other countries as well and RE has been constantly trying to expand its overseas footprint. It recently opened its store in Thailand.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a single cylinder SOCH carbureted 411cc engine that generates 24bhp. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Royal Enfield Himalayan has a variety of touring accessories that can be mounted on the motorcycle to improve the touring experience. A dedicated lineup of apparels is available as well.
