BMW Motorrad showcased the G310R sub-500 cc motorcycle at the Auto Expo. BMW Motorrad G310R is BMW Motorrad’s smallest capacity motorcycle, at 313 cc. It is the first product of BMW to be manufactured exclusively by TVS Motor Company for the Indian markets. Exports of the G310R are planned for a later date. TVS will manufacture the BMW G310R at its plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
BMW Motorrad G310R consists of a 313 cc liquid cooled backward tilted single cylinder engine. The engine produces a maximum power of 34 hp @ 9500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7500 rpm. The gear box is 6-speed. BMW Motorrad G310R features a new tubular steel frame and aluminum swing arm. The motorcycle has a naked design with bikini fairing.
The front has an inverted telescopic suspension. The rear has a monoshock suspension. ABS is standard on the bike. The braking setup consists of 300mm disc brake with radially bolted 4-piston caliper at the front and 240mm disc brake with 2-piston floating caliper at the rear. The BMW G310R is shod with Metzeler tires with 110/70-R17 on the front and 150-60-R17 on the rear.
BMW Motorrad G310R is expected to be sold by TVS and BMW at their respective showrooms with a significant price different although nothing has been confirmed yet.
