BMW M2 Coupe Official Pictures Released!

BMW M2 Coupe official pictures have been released by the German automaker. The M2 Coupe has kept the essence of the 40 year old BMW 2002 turbo. It features huge air intakes on the front, 19 inch double spoke wheels and a twin tailpipe exhaust system that delivers a proper M-sound. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the video below!

The BMW M2 Coupe is powered by a twin turbo, 3.0 liter 6-cylinder in-line engine. The engine generates a peak power of 370hp @ 6500 rpm and a maximum torque 465Nm @ 1400rpm. The M2 can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 4.3 seconds. The gear box is a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The top speed is limited to 250kmph. Due to the combination of light weight and an impressive engine torque, the M2 Coupe is a very efficient machine.

The M2 features aluminum front and rear axles which were borrowed from the BMW M3. The M compound brakes and the M Servotronic steering allow for excellent control and handling at high speeds. There is a new Active M differential which allows for a moderate amount of drift when the M Dynamic Mode is activated. An M Laptimer app can be used to record lap times around the track. The interior is a mixture of Alcantara and carbon-fiber that give it a racy feel. The BMW M2 Coupe can be placed in the exclusive Motorsport family without looking back.

BMW has announced that it would be starting sales of the M2 Coupe in April 2016 at an estimated $52,700 in the USA.
