BBajaj Auto today launched the highly anticipated all new commuter motorcycle; The Bajaj Valor. The Bajaj Valor is part of the Bajaj commuter range of bikes which also features the Platina, the CT100 and the Discover. The unique aspect of the bike is that the fuel tank is made out of metal that is scrapped from India’s first Aircraft Carrier, the iconic INS Vikrant.
The INS Vikrant Emblem is marked on the fuel lid that is mounted on the tank. According to Bajaj, the name ‘Valor’ signifies ‘courage, boldness and heroism’. Bajaj will start production of the Valor on February 5 and shipping is expected to start in early March. Customers can expect the bike to be delivered by the third week of March.
The Bajaj Valor has a cafe racer styling, with a muscular looking fuel tank and retro design. The bike consists of a led tail lamp, ergonomic handle bars and a double cradle construction. The headlamp unit is a powerful 60W unit. Other bikes in this segment have a 30W headlamp unit. The Bajaj Valor also features a bolt on cowl for the rear seat, which increases the cafe racer feeling of the bike. The cowl can be removed easily with the help of an Allen key that is inbuilt with the key of the bike.
The Bajaj Valor consists of a 149.5cc single-cylinder air cooled engine that is fuel efficient and makes 11.8 hp @ 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. The bike consists of an 18-inch front tire and a 16-inch rear tire. The gear box is 5-speed. The Bajaj Valor is equipped with a single disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear. The Bajaj Valor comes in two colors: Ebony Black and Pearl White.
The pricing is expected to be around ₹ 60,000 – ₹ 70,000. Bajaj Auto is expected to release the final pricing in the next few days. The company also plans to start exporting the Valor in the next few months.
