Aston Martin is all set to reveal the DB11, the successor to the 13-year old DB9 and the DB10 at the Geneva Motor Show in a few days’ time. The DB11 will be the latest model to join the Aston Martin lineup and is expected to go on sale later this year. Take a look at the leaked image of the DB11 ahead of the Geneva Motor show. According to reports, it is rumored that Aston Martin is planning for replacements for the current Vanquish and Vantage models. The Aston Martin Vanquish and Vantage replacements should be unveiled before 2018 as per the report.
Aston Martin has not offered much clues about the details or the design of the new replacement models. They are expected to share components with the DB11, but they may have design changes to differentiate the Vanquish and Vantage from their predecessors. This, Aston Martin believes, will help to address the criticism that their current models of the Vanquish and Vantage are too similar.
The Aston Martin DB11 will be a good indicator of how the Vanquish and Vantage models will develop. The DB11 uses a 5.2 liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that is developed with the help of Daimler Benz. Electric components are borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz. This would imply that future Aston Martin models can share such features too. Currently, the DB9, Vanquish and the Vantage models all use the VH architecture and are offered with different 6.0 liter V12 engine variants.
Expect more news on the replacements for the Vanquish and Vantage models once all the noise on the DB11 has died down. Aston Martin is also working on an electric version of its Rapide sedan concept called as the RapidE. The DBX concept that was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show 2015 might be put into production too. It looks like Aston Martin is going to have a busy year ahead and we cannot wait to see what they come up with!
