You may have never heard of this brand name before and you do not have to be shy about it. Arash, a low volume supercar maker has revealed its all-wheel drive AF10. If anything is to be said of low-volume supercar makers, it is that they rarely lack ambition. The latest effort from Arash certainly looks ambitious. Meet the Arash AF10.
The Arash AF10 is a hybrid hypercar that is billed to have speeds in excess of 200mph, with 2080hp to play around with. While we are not sure how fast the car can be yet, it is certainly going to be in the high 200s (mph). Depending on gearing, as much as 300mph is possible. If so, then the speed of the LaFerrari is like that of a pedestrian sprinting. Now, we only need to find a test track that can handle this (speculated) insanely fast car.
The Arash AF10 is powered by a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine that has been designed and developed by the automaker itself. The engine makes about 900hp. There is a quintuplet of electric motors that can boost the power upto 2080hp. Now, that is simply monstrous. There are a two-speed gearbox for each motor. The transmission is either six-speed manual or paddleshift type.
The Arash AF10 is built from carbonfiber. The construction consists of a carbon fiber tub and carbon fiber reinforced plastic body panels. Due to these, the AF10 has the potential to be enormously fast. The press release mentions the 0-60mph sprint in less than 3 seconds. The 0-124mph sprint is less than 8 seconds.
All the speed and power comes at a cost. The ‘Standard’ AF10 will set you back by a whopping $1.55 million. The track focused ‘Racer’ version will cost a cool $1.70 million. The Racer version includes a fire extinguisher, roll cage, an intercom and various weight saving measures. With Arash planning to make between 5 and 10 AF10s this year, exclusivity is guaranteed. The Arash AF10 will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1st.
