Instead of the traditional Porsche 6 cylinder flat engine, the new Boxster has a 2.0 liter turbo boxer four cylinder engine that generates 300hp. There is also a 2.5 liter variant that generates 350hp. The new engines are smaller and also more powerful. They offer a significant improvement in torque as well. With the new engines, the Porsche 718 Boxster S achieves the 0-100kmph time in just about 4.0 seconds.

Apart from the engines, there have been changes in the styling as well. The Porsche 718 Boxster S has an updated instrument console, interior design and there is new equipment as well. The body work features redesigned panels and lines that add a new sense of style to the car. The Porsche 718 Boxster S will go on sale in April in Europe. The car will start selling in the USA in June. We can also expect there to be a Cayman version with a fixed roof later this year.
