The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback concept has been leaked ahead of the Geneva Motor Show. The images below preview a near production-ready concept. The latest images from Carscoops reveal the exterior of the Civic hatchback from all sides. The Honda Civic Hatchback gets a sporty appeal with new design features. The likely competitors of the new Civic Hatchback will be the VW Golf, Ford Focus, the Renault Megane, The Vauxhall Astra and the Nissan Pulsar.
The new Honda Civic Hatchback gets a full set of LED headlamps with DRL, large air inlets, mesh grille inserts and large air outlets. Apart from it, it features a rear bumper with an integrated diffuser, C-shaped LED taillights. There are two spoilers at the rear. One of them is mounted on the roof. The other is mounted on the bootlid. There are various elements on the car that feature a greenish yellow accent which accentuates the sporty and trendy look of the car.
The 2017 Honda Civic hatchback concept will be the third addition to the tenth addition Honda Civic range. The concept will be powered by Honda’s new 1.0 liter VTEC Turbo turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine. This new engine also debuts at Geneva. The Civic hatchback will also be offered in a 1.5 liter VTEC Turbo turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine variant. The 1.0 liter engine will develop a maximum power of 127bhp and 201Nm of torque. The engine is expected to replace the 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engine. The 1.6 liter i-DTEC diesel engine is likely to stay.
The Honda Civic hatchback concept also features LED head lights, LED DRLs, Tail lights with integrated LED light bars and electronic parking brake. A –inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility, adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking and Road Departure Mitigation technology is standard.
The 2017 Honda Civic hatchback will be built in Swindon UK before being launched in Europe in early 2017. The pricing is expected to be in the range of £15,000-20,000.
