2017 Corvette Grand Sport Debuts at Geneva Motor Show

Chevrolet has brought its track-focused 2017 Corvette Grand Sport to the Geneva Motor Show. The Corvette Grand Sport is a lightweight, aerodynamic corvette with super-sticky tires. It is a naturally aspirated stingray with a LT1 V8 engine that puts out 460hp. It can pull up to 1.2Gs. According to Chevrolet, the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport is a ‘purist’ model that leverages half a century legacy of motorsport success.

The track focused Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport gets specific updates. It includes the sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport Summer tires – 285/30 ZR19 on the front and 335/25ZR 20 at the rear. The Corvette Grand Sport features huge Brembo brakes that can bring speeds down quickly when needed. There are new stabilizer bars and springs to keep the car on the ground when it is flying around the track. There is a seven speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic variant on offer. There is a Z07 pack that adds carbon ceramic brakes and Pilot Spoert 2 Cup tires.

The Corvette Grand Sport will be available in coupe and convertible versions. There is a Collectors’ edition that is due to be released later this year. The collectors’ edition will have the Watkins Glen Gray with Tension Blue hash marks, satin black strips, black wheels and a blue full leather and suede interior. The Corvette Grand Sport will go on sale in the United States this summer. The collectors’ edition will be offered in USA and Europe.
