The 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R have been launched in India. The ZX-10R has received substantial upgrades for 2016. The flagship Ninja ZX-14R has some minor revisions. The ZX-10R retails at ₹ 16.4 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) and the ZX-14R retails at ₹ 17.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The 2016 Ninja ZX-10R features a revised chassis that is lighter. The engine is improved upon to meet Euro 4 standards. The 998cc inline 4 cylinder engine has a lighter crankshaft that reduces inertia by 20%. The engine generates a peak power of 197hp. The braking setup has been upgraded to Brembo M50 monoblock calipers with Brembo idle stroke checked radial master cylinder which offers Brake Force Modulability. The front fork is a WSBK inspired Showa suspension.
The electronics of the ZX-10R has been substantially upgraded. A six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) consists of a Bosch IMU. The Bosch IMU measures variables in 5-axis. The 6th axis is measured by a program in the Kawasaki ECU. The ZX-10R also features launch control, traction control, engine power mode selector and a brake management system.
The ZX-14R has received far less substantial upgrades in comparison with the ZX-10R. The ZX-14R gets an upgraded ECU. The engine is improved to meet Euro 4 standards. The engine generates a maximum power of 197hp and a peak torque of 158Nm. The suspension has been re-tuned to improve high speed stability.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R retails at ₹ 16.4 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Ninja ZX-14R retails at ₹ 17.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
