The Gumpert Apollo is one of the fastest cars on the planet. It is also one of the fastest cars to lap around the Nurburgring. Now, the Pagani Huayra has claimed the top spot on the charts, but the Gumpert Apollo is still a supercar to be reckoned with. The new Gumpert Apollo Arrow has debuted at the Geneva Motor Show with more body work and power than before.
The Gumpert Apollo Arrow, for that is the name of the car is the newest car from the Gumpert Brand. While Gumpert went broke a few years ago, it was revived with fresh investment from a Hong Kong based company. The company was rebranded Apollo Automobil with founder Roland Gumpert still at the helm. The Apollo Arrow is the Gumpert Apollo relaunched.
Don’t Miss: Top 5 1000hp Supercars at the Geneva Motor Show
The Gumpert Apollo Arrow is powered by an Audi sourced twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 engine that is highly modified to deliver massive horsepower. It is indeed massive, with 1000hp! There is also a massive amount of torque that is available – 1003Nm to be exact. With all this power, the Apollo Arrow is expected to hit the 0-100kmph mark in under 2.9 second. The top speed is expected to be 355kmph. I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes faster.
It makes sense that the Apollo Arrow is based on the Gumpert Apollo. It drops the straight lines of its predecessor and has a more swooping bodywork. According to Gumpert, the body work is inspired by sharks. It looks more like a fighter jet with the wings being traded for a spoiler at the rear. The design is vaguely reminiscent of the McLaren P1. The Orange paintjob looks fabulous though and we are not complaining.
The Gumpert Apollo Arrow is restricted to 100 units according to the automaker. Production is expected to start soon. The cost of this 1000hp hypercar is not announced as yet, but expect it to be pricey. If you were more attracted to the Gumpert Apollo, fear not. There will be six examples of the Apollo as well, repackaged as the Apollo N and based on the outgoing Apollo S. Good luck getting your hands on one.
